Superset Consulting Requirements A major financial services company sought to transition away from a leading commercial BI solution within one of its critical products. Their objective was to migrate to an Open Source system, specifically Superset, to achieve significant reductions in licensing costs.
Deliverables NobleProg initiated the process by conducting several project meetings with the client to fully grasp the requirements, scope, potential risks, and technical environment. Based on these discussions, we developed a comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and track the project’s progress. Our lead consultant focused on aligning the existing data architecture with the specific reporting needs for each report type. We recommended adjustments to the data stores to optimize the use of Superset and ensure peak performance, while also guiding the implementation team through these changes. After optimizing the data store and data pipeline, our consultants began developing and deploying a variety of reports, addressing both existing requirements and new requests from the business and its customers. To present the data as specified, we developed custom plug-ins that enabled more interactive data presentation, including advanced features such as drill-downs.
Outcome The consultants have successfully built new dashboards while simultaneously ensuring that sufficient knowledge has been embedded within the customer’s organization to allow for the independent maintenance of these dashboards and reports.
The project remains ongoing and has been well-received by both the customer’s business unit and their end clients. The project’s success has been further underscored by its expansion and extension to include additional products and end users.
